Phil Haines wins the Region 7 opener at Pyramid

The bite was tough, but someone always figures out how to catch ‘em. Congratulations to Phil Haines who figured out how to bring in the only 5 fish limit of the tournament and top the field with 9.96 lbs. 2nd place went to Vic Allen with a solid 4 fish bag that weighed in at 8.80 lbs. Jerry Ballesteros took third place with an 8.52 lb bag anchored by a 3.25 lb chunk which was the big fish of the tournament. The top finishers reported a variety of patterns including jerk baits, plastic worms, and jigs.

A huge Thank You goes to Pete Graves who put on a barbeque for all the anglers. Pete pulled a large barbeque out of his truck, cooked and put out a spread which was delicious, unplanned, and on his own dime.

The next tournament for CBF Region 7 is on 3/5/16 at Castaic. Sign up information can be found at the CBF website or by contacting me at bkurata@yahoo.com I will also post signup information here on the Westernbass site. Anglers who missed the first tournament can still accumulate enough points to qualify for the CBF State TOC because the points are based on your 3 best tournaments for a Region.
