[et_pb_section][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text]Junior Anglers Travis Harris and Tanner Larocque win the California Bass Federation Junior Angler Team State Championship held at Lake Skinner near Temecula, CA. A beautiful day at Lake Skinner started cool with overcast skies and ended with clearing skies, sun and warming temperatures. The bite was good considering the Memorial Day Weekend pressure which causes the Lake to fish tougher every day. Unusually clear water favored long casts to productive water to entice spooky bass to commit to a bite.
At the end of the day, Delta Teen Team Anglers prevailed bringing in a 4 fish limit of 14.47 lbs. With a big fish of only 4.01 they brought in the most consistent solid limit. Second place finishers Mark Valgos and Lucas Avila also from Delta Teen Team brought in a 4.30 lb kicker to help them with a 4 fish limit of 13.92 lbs. Finally, Fisherman’s Outpost anglers Jackson Paluczak and Ryder Lynn brought in 4 fish limit for 12.17lbs anchored with a big fish of 3.69 lbs also demonstrating very consistent fishing and just didn’t get the bite they needed for the win.
Maverick Grant from the Canyon Lake team brought in a giant 5.37 pounder to capture Big Fish honors.
Congratulations to all the competitors. Fourteen teams of 2 Anglers each competed in this event. Only one team blanked which can happen easily in a lake with a 15 inch minimum size and you keep catching bass that are just barely under the limit. A big Thank You out to all the competitors, Parents, and Volunteers for making this such a great event.
